Funding Opportunities for Rural Homeownership

USDA Celebrates National Homeownership Month
U.S. Department of Agriculture

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack kicked off National Homeownership Month, as part of a nationwide celebration to highlight U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) efforts to provide access to affordable housing for rural Americans. USDA Rural Development supports rural homeownership through the following programs: Home Repair Loan and Grant Program , Single Family Housing Direct Home Loans, Single Family Housing Home Loan Guarantees and Mutual Self-Help Housing Technical Assistance Grants.

Single Family Home Repair Loans and Grants

USDA Rural Development provides funds to elderly and very-low-income homeowners to remove health and safety hazards, perform necessary repairs, improve or modernize a home, make homes accessible for people with disabilities, or make homes more energy efficient so these very-low-income families use less of their income on utility bills. Refugee Individual Development Accounts (IDA) Program
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
The Office of Refugee Resettlement offers funding for organizations to establish and manage IDAs for low-income refugee participants that support homeownership, business capital and education. Application Deadline: June 18, 2021

Choice Neighborhood Planning Grants
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)

Housing Preservation Grants

Veterans Housing Rehabilitation and Modification Pilot Program
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)

HUD’s Office of Rural Housing and Economic Development, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, offers grant funding to qualified agencies to modify or rehabilitate the primary residences for eligible veterans. Application Deadline: July 30, 2021

National Endowment for the Humanities
This funding is available to strengthen the institutional base of the humanities by enabling infrastructure development and capacity building Capital Projects support the design, purchase, construction, or renovation of facilities which includes telecommunications, and energy management. Delta Health Care Services Grant Program
