The Kentucky Office for Rural Health

The mission of the KORH is to support the health and well-being of Kentuckians by promoting access to rural health services.  The Kentucky Office of Rural Health (KORH), established in 1991, is a Federal/State partnership authorized by Federal Legislation. The Center of Excellence in Rural Health serves as the federally designated Kentucky Office of Rural Health.

Kentucky Homeplace

Residents of rural Kentucky have unusually high levels of certain diseases. These include cancer, heart disease, hypertension, asthma, and diabetes. Lifestyle choices, environmental factors, inadequate health insurance and general lack of understanding of the healthcare system are often cited as contributing to this condition. Kentucky Homeplace was created to help address these issues.
